“Meet precious Maya! She is an 8 year-old, purebred German Shepherd with a lot of love to give! She is very friendly and quickly warms up to new people. Maya is great with other dogs, small or large, and also gets along well with cats. She is housebroken if she’s kept on a schedule, walks great on a leash, and can even sit and shake! What more could you ask for? Maya is very relaxed most of the time and just enjoys the company of other people! Maya would love to find a family to settle in with and call her own again, could you be that family?”

Today I posted adoption alerts on facebook for our animals that are at Petco today, then I took photos of the cats who needed photos for our website, and I uploaded them. Then I updated petfinder.com, posted adoption alerts on facebook, and entered donations and donors into our system for Laura. I wrote the following bios:

“Hi my name is Oreo! I’m a one-year-old, male, terrier/ pit bull mix and I love to be with people! My family knew I used to be at the Berks County Animal Rescue League, but they never came to take me back home. I came here to the Humane League of Lancaster County now hoping to find a family who will continue to love me and let me love them. I would love to spend my days playing and chasing toys! I can sit and take my food nicely, and I love going for walks, but sometimes I get a little excited to explore and pull a little. Pet me, play with me, love me and don’t abandon me again, and I will be happiest pup around!”

“Meet little Lucy! This adorable little female, 4-month-old, Australian Cattle dog/ pit bull mix puppy is just as full of love as she is energy! She is  mostly white with a little bit of brown in her coat, she’s got adorable floppy ears, and a tail that won’t stop wagging! Lucy is very social and loves to play and be petted. Her little teeth are still coming in, so give her a toy to chew on and a family that will love her and play with her, and you will make her one very happy pup!”

Here are the photos I took today:

I started out today posting thank you’s on Facebook for donations made this weekend, and checking out the adoption website to see who all was adopted this weekend. Then I made a list of all of the animals on our website that needed photos yet and I went and photographed them (photos posted below). Once all of the photos were taken and uploaded to the website I spent the majority of my day entering profiles into the petfinder.com website. I went and spent some time with Lexi the dog for a little while so I could then write her profile (which is also posted below), and I spent the rest of my day updating pinterest.

Lexi:

“Meet Lexi! This beautiful female German Shepard/ Mastiff mix is a friendly and gentle giant. She loves everyone she comes across and if you happen to be holding a tennis ball she’ll love you even more! Lexi is only 2 years old and loves to play frisbee and fetch.  She also loves to be petted and rubbed behind the ears. Sometimes you just have to wrap your arms around her and hug her like a bear because you can’t stand her cuteness anymore! Lexi has had some obedience lessons and can sit, stay, and paw. She is housetrained and good with being walked on a leash and using a crate. Because of her size, Lexi would do best in a home without small dogs or children. Will you give Lexi a home today?”

I started out my day helping with preparations for our “Pitties in the Park event.” This included making copies of forms that participants need to fill out, and gathering materials such as clip boards, pens, dog treats, and so forth. Then I wrote a profile for the rabbit Luna, sent out reminds for the wellness clinic’s special opening on Thursday, and created another “adventure story” with a picture album posted on facebook of a dog’s day out with kind volunteers. This usually really helps in getting a dog adopted. I then finished my day posting adoption alerts and event reminders on facebook.

Today I made up a quick thank you collage using paint because that was my only option on our work computer, and I have that example below. I also went and took picture of the cats Rafiki, Tuna, Frankie, Ginger, Mary Ann, and Gilligan. There photos are also posted below. I then worked on updating petfinder, and then because there were a few people out on vacation, there was a lot of cleaning that needed done so I spent the rest of my day helping to clean out cat cages and give them food and water.doubletree Thank you
